Fresno State’s Student Wellbeing and Counseling Middle has made a plan to present pupils comprehensive gender-affirming care, commencing in the fall 2022 semester.
Gender-affirming care is a holistic approach to well being care in which folks can greater align their actual physical features with their gender identity. This will include things like kinds of counseling and professional medical treatment to specifically guidance transgender and nonbinary pupils.

Jordan Fitzpatrick, a graduate college student representative on the subcommittee, advocated for hormone-replacement treatment to be accessible to students on campus. “When transgender and gender-nonconforming persons do find health-related treatment in the Central Valley, they [often] facial area medical doctors who are not educated on how to care for [them], or refuse treatment, or are outright hostile,” Fitzpatrick reported.
